Hey guys, don't have a lot of time to showcase some of the stuff we're working on with a video this time, but I did want to go over some of the things coming up that we're working on.
Contents
New Cash Shop Items
Nothing special here just implementing a few new mild cash items.
1.) Forbidden Card Album (5000cp)- This item included a random MVP card, with a 99.90% chance it will be a moonlight flower card, and a 0.10% chance it will be anything else.
2.) Boost Berries- (500cp)- This item gives you 1 extra Level regardless of what level you are at.
3.) Veil of Immunity (10000cp)- Cashshop headgear that grants you total immunity to everything. That's it. You're just completely invulnerable while wearing it. Also has 4 slots and gives 100 to all stats.
Dorams are Here
I thought about it a lot, and ya know what, I just really like cats. So Dorams are coming in Episode 5. They'll come unchanged from renewal with their full kits since every time I've tried to create my own class they've completely ruined the game. So we're just adding them in as is in all their cuteness and glory.
This means they'll come along the new DX9 client.
NOTE: The DX9 Client will unfortunately have a capped framerate of 15fps because of server stability issues.
Player Skill Checks and Visual Changes
So we've heard this outcry a lot, about how some players don't live up to your expectations of their skill level. And we're with you. RO is a game of pure intensity and skill. We don't want your Cortisol to spike so we're making some changes.
1.) Party leads shot calls are now checked by AI for what the instruction is.
2.) Any players who fail to follow party leads instructions are marked with a skill check decrease.
3.) When their skill check is decreased they are forced logged out and their character is automatically banned/deleted.
This should allow alfheim to remain clear of the worst cases and allow you to efficiently farm 2.7% more of the material you were farming before.
Night Watch Rework
We've heard you guys and you want us to remove Night Watch. Won't be doing that, put way too mcuh work into it, but we spent some time brewing and felt like we came up with some things that will keep them more in check. The mechanics below should slow them down by adding a bit of RNG to their kit and make them more of a "risk reward" kind of class.
1.) All Night Watch offensive skills can now "Jam" a bullet in their gun chamber preventing them from using that gun again until it is unjammed by a Whitesmith's "Repair" skill. The Night Watch can attempt to slam their gun on the ground new a new quest skill called "Come On Work!" and dislodge the bullet themselves at a 50/50 chance, however. If they fail 3 times in a row however their gun will be permanently destroyed.
2.) New Quest for skill "Come On Work!". Very simple quest, just go talk to NPC in the Night Watch Hide Out. Pre-Requisite quests are the Nameless Island Quest, The Sign Quest, and Warm Cat Muffler Quest.
3.) Night Watch will now need to "reload" their bullets every time they are changing guns. When swapping either manually or using the swap skill, they will have a 15 second fixed cast time while they reload their gun. This cast time, however is reduced with Night Watch "reload skill level"
4.) Night Watch Reload skill level is increased for every point of of base INT you have in your build and reduced by every point of Base DEX or LUK or AGI.
Convenience and Quality of Life
We're all aware how hard it can be to click your player and move places. It's exhausting. Why do I have to walk to an inn? The main office? Why do I even login? I just want to click on an NPC and get what I want? Can't you get give me this?
Well now the answer is YES!
There will be a new Mercenary Item implemented into the game called Yessy. Who will allow you to do everything you could ever want as a skill. Just put a skill on your skill bar and voila!
Yessy skills are listed below.
Yessy Skills
1.) Shop Please! (brings up type entry that allows you to type an item id, when you enter it, it will offer to sell you said item in the game at a fixed price.)
2.) Main Office Schtuff (This will allow you to do all the things in the main office at once in one menu. It's quite long though so it may take some time to get used to)
3.) Set Warp/Warp Me! (sets a warp point, and allows you to warp back to said warp point at any time)
4.) Kill everything! (kills every monster on your screen for you)
5.) Spawn everything! (spawns a bunch of random monsters from the map you are on all at once around you but they are not aggressive but will follow you like slaves, they wont aggro even if you hit them)
6.) Heal me! (Fully Heals you)
7.) Buff me! (gives you every buff in the game all at once so you dont have to dual client anymore)
Player Population
Lastly we've heard about the player issues, and we found what we felt was a good solution.
We've traded access to our source code to another unnamed server (out of total respect for their creative intelligence) that wanted to make a server that was inspired by ours. This should help them in their efforts to build their server significantly and perhaps even come up with some original ideas of their own!
In exchange, we'll be getting clones of their players who will have their memories wiped and pretend that Alfheim is an entirely new server so they'll be excited to play here once their server shuts down in about a years time. Consider it a future investment!
Final Words and the Future of Alfheim
If you've gotten this far, I'm really surprised. but thank you for reading up.
and of course as always
APRIL FOOLS!
Love you guys, Charlie. <3
